About Ancestrify

Ancestrify is built on qpAdm, the same formal admixture-modelling framework used by ancient-DNA labs at Harvard, the Max Planck Institute, and the Reich Lab to publish peer-reviewed population-genetics papers. Unlike cluster-based tools that pick a fixed K and force the data to fit, qpAdm tests whether a candidate model is compatible with the data — and reports a p-value alongside every proportion.

That property — being able to reject a model rather than just shrug at it — is what lets us hand back results with calibrated confidence instead of marketing numbers.

Reproducibility

Every model is reproducible from the input genotype and published reference panel. We pin dataset versions and document the transformation pipeline.

Privacy

We never sell genotype data. Credentials use salted, one-way password hashes and analyses run with strict access controls.

Honest uncertainty

Every proportion ships with a standard error and the model's p-value. We do not force a clean-looking number when a model is not credible.

Ancestrify is built and operated by Andi Thomaj, a sole trader registered in Tiranë, Albania (register number M61725001N). He is the data controller for everything processed through this site and the seller of record for every analysis, and he is on LinkedIn. Full registration details are on our legal notice.

Ancestrify is one person, not a consumer testing company: it sells no DNA kits and runs no lab. You bring data you already own — a raw genotype export for qpAdm, Ancient Matches or the Relative Finder, or a Global25 coordinate row for G25 — and every model is built and checked by hand against published reference panels before it reaches your report.
